Violence in lesbian relationships – a Slovenian perspective
(Saturday, October 27th 2018, 16:00-17:30, Galgóczi Room, Bálint Ház)
The issue of violence in lesbian intimate relationships is a topic that is underrepresented and rarely discussed in our community and in professional circles engaged in working with survivors of violence. Being informed about the dynamics of violence, different forms of violence, challenges when trying to leave the abusive partner and other specifics of violence in lesbian relationships, is the key to prevent further victimisation of survivors and a way to practice community accountability.
Led by Mateja Merkandel, Lesbian Feminist University, Ljubljana. The workshop is in English.

Lesbian relationships in Slovenia
(Saturday, October 27th 2018, 18:00-19:30, Galgóczi Room, Bálint Ház)
The research on lesbian relationships to be presented at this workshop took place in April and May 2017, carried out by Polona Černič and Urška Bremec. Their purpose was to investigate the characteristics of lesbian partnerships in Slovenia. Where do lesbians learn about potential partners? What is the quality of their relationships and how satisfied are they with their relationships? Four hundred respondents responded to the survey, which therefore represents one of the more extensive studies on the lives of women entering into lesbian partnerships in our region.
Presented by Polona Černič, Lesbian Feminist University, Ljubljana. The workshop is in English.
